Slaine rapping at Cheyenne Saloon

In "The Town," he played a burly, badass Irish hood. In "Gone Baby Gone," he played a burly, badass Irish hood. Typecasting? For Slaine, not really.

The Boston rapper has a rough-and-tumble background in petty crime. These days, that's all behind him, but his gritty, hard-knock hip-hop is still as rooted in the mean streets as this dude once was.

See Slaine at 8 p.m. today at the Cheyenne Saloon, 3101 N. Rancho Drive. Tickets are $15; call 645-4139.
