Tony Orlando keeps tradition alive
April 22, 2011 - 1:16 am
Wayne Newton may or may not be retired, and Tom Jones and Paul Anka don't come around as often as they used to.
But fear not, lovers of classic, tuxedo-clad Vegas showmanship. Tony Orlando worked the Desert Inn, Las Vegas Hilton, Golden Nugget -- you name it -- over the past 30 years.
And sure, he revisits the early '70s glory days of "Candida" and "Knock Three Times." But those are almost perfunctory for a guy whose real goal is to teach you what it means to be an "entertainer" with a capital "O" -- err, "E."
You can see him at 7:30 p.m. today through Sunday at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $45-$55; call 797-8055.
