Diplo a fitting performance for XS’ 7th anniversary

Grammy-winning artist Diplo helped Wynn Las Vegas’ XS Nightclub celebrated its seventh anniversary Monday night.

The performance was fitting for a club that helped pioneer the resident DJ concept on Las Vegas Boulevard.

“When we originally opened, we only had one night dedicated to electronic dance music, but we knew that the genre’s popularity would explode. No one really knew what a residency was until we started booking electronic dance artists on a more regular basis,” said Yannick Mugnier, senior executive director of nightclub operations at XS.

In the years since then, Las Vegas has become a wildly popular destination for those looking to club alongside the world’s hottest EDM artists. To stay relevant, Mugnier says the XS team is constantly listening for “the next big thing.”

To keep the artists and guests happy, the club just spent $10 million to upgrade its pyrotechnic system and added a 14,000 LED light-surrounded DJ booth.

“We are 100-percent dedicated to the guest experience. From the moment they step foot in the Wynn until the final song is played, we are making sure we exceed every expectation of the guest,” Mugnier said.

There’s no sign of slowing down, as the club continues to prioritize its music lineup.

“If you look at our extremely talented roster of A-list artists, although they all fall under the EDM umbrella, they are all a little different. On any given night you can enjoy one of the biggest artists in the world. For instance, in one weekend they can see David Guetta, Diplo, Alesso, Skrillex and Kaskade.”

And you never know who you may run into. Mugnier says impromptu appearances from celebrities also help to please the over 5 million guests so far.

“Our offerings, which include world-class entertainment with powerhouse artists like Diplo and Skrillex to surprise appearances from Hollywood’s A-list like Justin Bieber, have guests flocking from all over the globe,” Mugnier said. “We’re timeless.”
