Las Vegas Strip casinos to go dark Sunday night for Earth Hour

Las Vegas Boulevard will be a little less bright for 60 minutes on Saturday night in celebration of “Earth Hour.”

In an effort to raise climate change awareness, casinos including Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Luxor, Planet Hollywood and Excalibur will dim their exterior lights between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. It’s the seventh time Las Vegas will take part.

The Strip resorts are joined by the Eiffel Tower and the Acropolis in the annual worldwide effort, which was created in 2007 by World Wildlife Fund. More than 162 countries now participate.
