Cobra Skulls

"I'm not one to hold my tongue," sings Cobra Skulls frontman Devin Peralta on his band's latest disc, "Agitations," not that anyone needed to be told as much: His words tend to be sharp as these Reno punks' tightly honed melodies. 'Memphis'

Tequila Day

Bet you didn't know Tuesday is National Tequila Day. Actually, neither did we, until we heard that Border Grill at Mandalay Bay is celebrating with an Ambhar Tequila gaucho-style dinner with a theme of "Spicy Mexico Meets Texas." It begins with an appetizer reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7, and it's $150 per person (plus tax and tip), or $75 if you're a member of the Border Grill VIP Club. For details and reservations, call 632-7403.

Crystal Method

Show a little hometown loyalty this weekend by going to see the Crystal Method at the Hard Rock pool dayclub on Saturday. They moved to L.A. years ago, but the seminal electronic dance music duo of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland ("Name of the Game," "Trip Like I Do") came of age in Vegas, with Kirkland taking guitar lessons from another Vegas star: Mark Slaughter.
