Six Picks: Chelsea’s crew, The D.A., ‘Spider-Man,’ July 4, dinner special, Calvin Harris

Chelsea's friends

Comedy clubs sort their lineups by pay scale (opener/middle/headliner) and faith in variety. But Jen Kirkman, Chris Franjola and Brad Wollack are united by high-profile gigs as "Chelsea Lately" panelists. Just don't expect Chuy on Saturday at the Golden Nugget (at least he's not billed). Tickets are $31.45-$57.85 for the 9 p.m. show; call 866-946-5336.

The D.A.

El Paso, Texas' The D.A. make the kind of irrepressible dance pop that catalyzes enough smiling to fatigue facial muscles. Turn that frown upside down at 9 p.m. Thursday at the Beauty Bar, 517 Fremont St. Tickets are $5; call 598-1965.

'Spider-Man'

Sure, it seems pretty early to reboot a franchise that debuted in 2002. But there's money to be made, especially with the 3-D surcharge. "The Amazing Spider-Man," which opens Tuesday, goes back to the high school days of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) as he finds love with Gewn Stacy (Emma Stone) and battles The Lizard (Rhys Ifans).

Fourth of July

You'll have to wait until Wednesday to wave the flag and cheer the 236th birthday of the good ol' U.S.A., but Henderson's free Fourth of July Celebration serves up food, fun and entertainment, starting at 6 p.m. at Mission Hills Park, 551 E. Mission Hills Drive. Climaxing the evening: an 8 p.m. performance by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra, followed by light-up-the-sky fireworks. For more information, click on www.hendersonlive.com.

Dinner special

J.C. Wooloughan's Irish Pub at the J.W. Marriott, 221 N. Rampart Blvd., is offering a cool way to get out of the kitchen without dropping a lot of cool cash: $14 dinner specials. On the menu: chicken pot pie on Mondays, 8-ounce prime rib on Tuesdays, an Irish special on Wednesdays, a roasted half-chicken on Thursdays, bouillabaisse on Fridays, leg of lamb on Saturdays and pork loin on Sundays. The entrees come with side dishes and are available starting at 5 p.m. while supplies last, until further notice.

Calvin Harris

The excellent hit-maker Calvin Harris DJs Saturday at Wynn's XS nightclub. Then he DJs on Sunday at Encore Beach Club. Harris brings his dance floor staples "We Found Love" (his hit with Rihanna), "Awooga," "Feel So Close," "I'm Not Alone" and "Bounce." He filmed the video for "Bounce" at Encore's Surrender.
