Six Picks: Our experts share their favorites for the week

Kenny Edmonds

Boyz II Men open shop on the Strip in March, but you can hear "I'll Make Love to You" and "End of the Road" directly from the man who wrote them, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, on Saturday and Sunday at The Orleans. The singer, songwriter and producer is sure to bring back Whitney Houston memories with "I'm Your Baby Tonight" and other tunes he produced for the late superstar.

Agent Orange

Crashing fast, fierce songs about dying young headlong into Ventures-worthy instrumentals, Fullerton, Calif.'s Agent Orange was one of the pioneering acts of surf punk some three decades ago. It's a sound that's never really gotten old, even if the same can't be said of the dudes who helped create it. See Agent Orange at 10 p.m. today at Favorites, 4110 S. Maryland Parkway. Tickets are $10; call 796-1776.

'Rust and Bone'

It's a tale as old as time: Girl trains killer whales, girl loses legs in killer whale mishap, girl finds reason to live thanks to a recently homeless street fighter. As unlikely couples go, they're right up there with the leads of "Silver Linings Playbook." But the French drama "Rust and Bone" succeeds thanks to the undeniable chemistry of its leads, Matthias Schoenaerts and the great Marion Cotillard. See it at the Suncoast.

'Drumline Live'

Plum crazy for drums? March over to The Smith Center at 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and fire up for "Drumline Live," an energetic marching band extravaganza that blasts out musical favorites ranging from hip-hop to halftime in Reynolds Hall, 361 Symphony Park Ave. For tickets ($24-$79), call 749-2000 or go online to www.thesmithcenter.com.

Special guest

Here's an opportunity to meet a real, gen-u-ine winemaker: Justin Baldwin, founder of Justin Wines, will be a guest at a dinner featuring his wines at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Spiedini at the J.W. Marriott, 221 N. Rampart Blvd. With an entree of slowly braised Angus short rib, the four-course dinner is $69 per person, plus tax and tip. For reservations, call 869-8500.

Cedric Gervais

French/Miami DJ-producer Cedric Gervais spins his hit "Molly" Saturday at Surrender. Last year, Madonna quoted the song at a dance festival. ("How many people in this crowd have seen molly?") That sparked Deadmau5 to criticize Madonna for advocating the use of molly (a form of ecstasy). Madonna responded she was just quoting the song. Deadmau5 backed off. It was weird, and don't believe for a second Madonna didn't know what molly is.
