Wine program

Wine lovers can now sample some of the finest wines available thanks to the new luxury wine program in Tower Suite Bar at Wynn Las Vegas.

The "wine by the glass" program allows guests to sample labels including Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, 2005; Screaming Eagle cabernet sauvignon, 2009; Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, 1999; Champagne Dom Perignon; and others by one-, 3- or 5-ounce pours. Guests can also buy whole bottles. Prices range from $35 for a 3-ounce pour of Dom Perignon all the way up to $1,688 for a bottle of Wynn cabernet sauvignon.

Softball tournament

Twenty softball teams representing MGM Resorts International properties faced off last weekend in the company's annual softball tournament. Monte Carlo's team won the two-day competition, earning bragging rights for the next year. In the process, the 20 teams raised more than $20,000 for the MGM Resorts Foundation. A company spokesman said the money will be awarded to local nonprofits to benefit the community.

After the Lap

NASCAR fans can now buy tickets to the 2012 NASCAR After the Lap scheduled to be held at 5 p.m. Nov. 29 at Planet Hollywood Resort. This is the fourth year NASCAR has held the event in Las Vegas, giving fans the chance to interact with the top 12 drivers in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series.

ESPN pit reporter and Las Vegan Jamie Little will host the event, which starts after the top 12 drivers do a lap down the Strip. Tickets for After the Lap cost $20 but it's free to stand on the Strip and watch the parade of NASCARs as they burn rubber and show off to the crowd.
