Strip Tips: Go for the gold with Hope Solo

Want to see a real gold medal? Head over to Chateau Nightclub and Gardens at Paris tonight, where Hope Solo, goalie for the U.S. women's soccer team, will be hanging out. There's a good chance she will have her gold medal with her, since she's supposed to be there to celebrate the team's gold medal win. Since returning from London, Solo has been hitting the talk show circuit to promote her memoir, "Solo: A Memoir of Hope." No word on whether she will bring her goalie gloves to Chateau, but you can follow them on Twitter @hopesolosgloves. Chateau opens at 10:30 p.m. Cover charge is $20 for women and $30 for men, but prices are subject to change so call first, 776-7770.

Wine specials

"Siptember" is here. Through the end of the month, Mirage restaurants and bars will be offering specials on wine. Fin, Kokomo's, Onda Ristorante, Samba and several hotel bars will offer half-price bottles of wine and champagne on Thursdays. On Tuesdays, get a pizza margherita and a half bottle of wine at Onda Wine Lounge for $19. You can also get a Siptember "passport" in which you collect stamps with wine purchases. Once you amass three stamps, your name is entered in a drawing for prizes. You can win show tickets, hotel stays, restaurant meals and more.

Mussel deal

Onda Ristorante in The Mirage offers a pretty good deal for mussel lovers. From 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, eat all the mussels you can for $20 per person. Check out mirage.com for information.

Student discount

Students with a valid school ID can get half off admission to "Da Vinci - The Genius" at The Venetian. "Da Vinci - The Genius" offers a chance to see some of Leonardo da Vinci's ideas and inventions brought to life through pieces that were created for the exhibit. Some of the displays are interactive and show the range of areas that da Vinci impacted, from art and music to anatomy and engineering. Students who show their ID can get in for $17. The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Oct. 15. Tickets are available at The Venetian box office.

Burger and shake

KGB: Kerry's Gourmet Burgers at Harrah's is offering a monthly burger and shake combo for $18, a savings of $2. For September, the burger of the month will be Angus beef topped with bourbon-caramelized onions, mayonnaise, candied bacon, cheddar, greens and tomato. It's served on an onion roll. And the shake of the month is a strawberry cheesecake milkshake.
