99 Words About … The sad state of A&E’s ‘Bag of Bones’
December 8, 2011 - 2:05 am
Pity the Stephen King miniseries.
Once the proud occupant of four network sweeps nights, the latest has been relegated to seemingly the only four hours this month its new home isn't showing "Storage Wars."
The bare-bones "Bag of Bones" (9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, A&E) feels hurried -- unsurprising considering the novel could double as a booster seat.
But while Pierce Brosnan gives it his all, as well as the all of several others, the touching story of love and loss has been stripped of its emotional heft.
Still, it's comforting to see actual arts and/or entertainment again on A&E.
