Bombshell Beauty Lounge opens at The Ogden

Melissa Black, a longtime licensed aesthetician, founded and opened with great success Bombshell Beauty Lounge in Richmond, Va., in 2009. But when she learned that Tony Hsieh’s Downtown Project Las Vegas was looking for unique small businesses to help revitalize the city, she took a leap of faith and submitted her shop for consideration. Nearly three years later, Black signed a deal to bring her pinup-inspired beauty shop to The Ogden, the iconic condominium high-rise tower in the heart of downtown Las Vegas. Bombshell Beauty Lounge, 150 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Ste. 140, on the first floor of The Ogden, opened Feb. 13.

She further cemented her commitment to the area by living in The Ogden just 15 floors above her business, making her a true live/work downtown dweller with a commute of about 45 seconds.

“When I opened our first Bombshell Beauty Lounge in Richmond, Va., area residents readily accepted the newest kid in town with open arms,” Black said. “The business grew quickly, and we now have three locations in Richmond with this one in downtown Las Vegas as our fourth. I had a strong feeling this city would be a great fit for Bombshell, and after only living here for six months, I know now my intuition was right. I was so enamored by the energy of downtown Las Vegas and The Ogden, my husband and I decided it was only natural to make it home for us as well.”

The Ogden’s robust amenities include concierge, 24-hour security, a rooftop sky deck and restaurants such as Itsy Bitsy: Ramen and Whisky, coupled with spacious floor plans at stellar starting prices.

“Combined, these benefits made The Ogden too compelling to pass up when we were looking for a community to live in,” Black said. “We love everything about The Ogden and are honored to bring our business to downtown Las Vegas.”

Bombshell offers specialties such as Brazilian waxing, flawless airbrush tanning and exceptional hair and nail care services. The shop is fashioned with pin-up artwork and retro-inspired décor and is one of only a few Las Vegas locations that sells Unite Eurotherapy professional hair products.

“Bombshell portrays a very timeless look and feel, and we cater to guests as young as 8 and as old as 80,” Black said.

While Bombshell’s clientele includes everyone, the salon offers ongoing exclusive incentives to Ogden residents.

“We recently offered residents free eyebrow waxes, gel manicures and spray tans and had a great turnout,” Black said. “I’ve already connected with The Ogden concierge team and plan to create a new deal each month for residents. Our ultimate goal is to make every guest feel and look beautiful, no matter their age. I look forward to turning visitors into regular patrons in the coming months.”

Homes at The Ogden range from a one-bedroom, 815-square-foot residence starting in the mid-$200,000 range, to a three-bedroom, plus den 2,044-square-foot home for $629,000. Residences feature a modern design aesthetic in keeping with the architecture and the lifestyle vibe, private balconies and expansive views of downtown Las Vegas, the Strip and the mountains that frame the valley.

The Ogden’s single-story, open floor plans offer flex spaces that can serve as a home office, den or yoga room, extra bedrooms for accommodating multi-generational family and guests, and spacious windows that fill interiors with natural light.
