Couple Chooses The Ogden for its Luxury Amenities, Location and Skyscraping Views

Fernando and Renate Cavalcanti have lived in several major cities nationwide, but when they began discussing their golden years, they decided to make St. George, Utah, their final home.

So, in 2008, they purchased a vacation home in the St. George suburbs, quickly realizing they missed the excitement of city living. Fulfilling their desire for a more urban lifestyle, the Cavalcantis became residents at The Ogden, an iconic 21-story high-rise condominium tower in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.

“My husband’s career as a chemical engineer enabled us to explore some of this country’s greatest cities, including Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Houston, and our best memories have always been living in areas that were filled with culture, history and, of course, within walking distance of lots of restaurants,” Renate Cavalcanti said. “We weren’t ready to retire quite yet, so when we couldn’t find work in St. George, we decided to look at Las Vegas. Not only did we both land amazing jobs, but we also locked in our dream home in the sky at The Ogden.”

In 2012, her colleague suggested that the Cavalcantis look at The Ogden, and when they did, they instantly fell in love with the high rise located in the heart of historic Las Vegas. Two years after moving in as renters, they made their residence permanent by purchasing the Marble floor plan, a spacious two-bedroom home providing 1,333 square feet and majestic views of the mountains.

We use the fitness studio almost daily and have thrown several parties on the rooftop terrace. Our guests have always been blown away by the complete package that we discovered at The Ogden,” Renate Cavalcanti said.

“Ever since we were dating, we have dedicated our Friday nights to going out,” she added. “We’ve been married nearly 28 years and because we are surrounded by downtown Las Vegas’ best restaurants, bars and entertainment, we’ve been able to keep that tradition. All we have to do is walk outside of our building and decide on which hot spot to enjoy that evening. It’s been one our absolute favorite things about living at The Ogden.”

And, since the Cavalcantis’ families are scattered back East, their two-bedroom home is the perfect floor plan to accommodate guests, including their kids who already have visited from Florida.
