Financing professional invests in Spanish Palms condo

Christina Abrams, a Southern California transplant who landed a job with a Las Vegas finance company in 1999, has always been a renter, but when she discovered Spanish Palms, she realized it was time to buy a home. In early 2015, Abrams traded her apartment in the northwest to rent a one-bedroom condominium at Spanish Palms and, a few months later, she became one of the first to purchase a home in the lushly landscaped, guard-gated condominium community.

“I have always rented, and while I considered buying a handful of times throughout the last two decades, I just wasn’t ready to make such a huge financial commitment,” Abrams said. “But Spanish Palms made me rethink my outlook and within months of moving there, I learned homes were available for purchase. I practically bolted to the sales office. A gated community was at the very top of my list of must-haves for the added security and peace of mind. What surprised me was everything else that came with the lifestyle — the landscaping and walkable trails, accessibility to freeways, restaurants, shopping and hospitals and more. The list goes on.”

Abrams attended a seminar about buying a home at Spanish Palms and the next day, she was adding her name to a waiting list for available homes.

“I kept popping into the sales office to check if anything had become available and even offered an advance deposit to make sure they understood how serious I was about living here long term,” she said.

Through the help of Spanish Palms’ Federal Housing Administration financing program, she locked in a stellar deal and moved into an upgraded two-bedroom home last month.

“Once the approval came through for my loan, everything else was turnkey,” Abrams said. “The Spanish Palms and The Federal Savings Bank team was helpful and accommodating, helping me through the entire process. I consider myself very lucky to have found Spanish Palms and to receive the help in navigating the homebuying process from start to finish.”

During her free time, Abrams enjoys participating in obstacle races and marathons. She particularly enjoys taking the short drive up to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to hike through its many trails. Most of Abrams’ family and friends live on the East Coast, but she recently hosted out-of-town friends and was eager to show off her new home.

“It was the first time I was able to host guests, since this is the first time in my adult life I’ve lived in anything larger than a one-bedroom apartment,” she said.

Spanish Palms offers three floor plans ranging between 744 to more than 1,131 square feet, and with homes starting from $131,900. Spanish Palms signature amenities include Central Park, an expanded fitness center, business center and conference room inside the clubhouse.
