Lake Las Vegas to hold holiday events

Lake Las Vegas held its tree-lighting ceremony Saturday to kick off the holiday season. It featured a Santa Cruise, Santa visits, Christmas Express train rides and carolers.
The Henderson master-planned community that is centered around a man-made lake will hold holiday events throughout this month and December.
New this year, the Santa Cruise will set sail from Lake Las Vegas Marina in MonteLago Village on Saturdays from Nov. 28 through Dec. 19. Santa will join kids on the La Contessa Yacht for the one-hour cruise around the lake. Kids will enjoy making a holiday craft and visiting and taking pictures with Santa. The cost of the cruise is $12 per child, age 12 and younger, and $18 per adult. Kids must be accompanied by an adult. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to several local nonprofit organizations and other children's groups.
The Santa Cruise is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 28 and Dec. 5, 12 and 19. A 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. cruise also will set sail on Dec. 12 and 19. For reservations, visit www.lakelasvegasevents.com.
Additionally, a special Christmas concert, featuring world-renowned Romanian pianist Bogdan Ota will be held Dec. 13. It is being sponsored by the MonteLago Village Association and Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa.
