Nebraska native retires to One Las Vegas

Craig Blake is only about four weeks into his new life at One Las Vegas, a twin-tower high-rise condominium community on the south end of Las Vegas Boulevard. But he is already sure this is the perfect place to spend his golden years.

Blake, who left his home state of Nebraska after nearly 60 years, is excited about the next chapter of life as a resident of One Las Vegas, 18 floors above ground level and just south of the Strip.

Blake and his wife, Monica, knew Las Vegas, having traveled here frequently to visit their son. In 2010, the couple packed up their belongings and moved the Silver State.

“We purchased a spacious, four bedroom home in the northwest, which sat on a half-acre of land and featured a very large pool,” Blake said. “I realize now the purchase was overly ambitious for us. When my wife passed in 2013, I re-evaluated my living situation and knew it was time for me to ‘rightsize’ my home and get a fresh start. Once I saw One Las Vegas, all the pieces fell into place.”

“My positive first impression started with friendly greetings from One Las Vegas staff members upon entering the lobby, and it continued to grow once I saw the well-designed floor plans and the quality and workmanship of the homes,” he added. “I immediately saw myself as a resident and decided it was time to sell my house and ink the deal for my new home at One Las Vegas.”

Blake especially loves the climate-controlled storage unit that came with his home because it lets him safely store ancillary belongings. Other key selling points for Blake include the minimal maintenance, direct access to freeways and proximity to health care facilities, grocery stores, restaurants and shopping centers.

His two-bedroom home is ideal for guests who practically have their own private living space on the opposite end of the home, and friends and family, including Blake’s mother, who plan to visit soon.

Of the twin 20-story towers, DK Las purchased 295 of the project’s 359 residences. Homes range from 831 to 2,857 square feet; many floor plans offer views of the mountains and the Strip. One-bedroom homes are priced from the low $200,000s; two-bedroom homes from the high $200,000s; and three-bedroom homes from the low $400,000s. The penthouse, offering 3,000 square feet of sweeping views, is priced at $1.1 million.

One Las Vegas is close to Interstate 15, the 215 Beltway and just minutes from McCarran International Airport. Town Square, just a few blocks north of the property, provides shopping and scores of dining and entertainment options.

For more information, visit the One Las Vegas onsite sales center at 8255 Las Vegas Blvd. South or online at info@theonelv.com. The sales center is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
