One Las Vegas features fitness center

For residents at One Las Vegas, a twin-tower luxury condominium community on the south end of the Strip, the holiday season doesn't have to mean added pounds as a result of a busy party season and overindulgent meals with friends and loved ones. Thanks to a recently upgraded fitness center, One Las Vegas residents have a jump-start on their New Year's resolution of shaping up and slimming down.

Earlier this year, One Las Vegas revamped its two-story fitness center, which is now called Transform and features new equipment, suitable for residents of any age and fitness level. Management teamed up with Peter Oh, president of Pacific Fitness Equipment, to evaluate the space, identify areas of improvement and determine the best variety of offerings to fit the needs of residents.

"After a few meetings to ensure we had the best strategic plan for One Las Vegas' fitness center, we began working on a layout and design," Oh said. "The enhancements included the addition of Octane equipment, making One Las Vegas the first and only high-rise community to offer its residents with the cutting-edge product line most typically found at high-end gyms and fitness facilities."

Fitness centers typically rank as a very important feature when buyers are considering the condo lifestyle. According to Ben Franco, a professional personal trainer, the 4,422-square-foot, two-story space rivals the best stand-alone fitness centers in town. Not only can One Las Vegas residents work out on state-of-the-art treadmills, bikes, elliptical machines and Stairmasters, they can select entertainment of their choice, available directly through the machines.

"Every cardio machine in the fitness center features an entertainment TV console, giving guests the opportunity to watch any show they want," Franco said. "The machines also allow users to connect to the Internet, watch a DVD or listen to their favorite tunes. It's an extremely personalized and customized feature that many other fitness centers often overlook."

Additional features include a TRX Certified station for full-body suspension training, a punching bag, free weight section and a Pilates Cadillac Reformer. There are men's and women's locker rooms, equipped with showers and saunas. Special resident classes are offered, organized with the help of One Las Vegas' lifestyle director, Evelyn Connors.

"I've seen a lot of fitness centers in this town, and One Las Vegas offers added value for its residents," Franco said. "One of the best things about the center is that unlike other gyms, it isn't intimidating. The new set-up has something to target every body part, giving both beginners and advanced residents a multitude of options, all under one roof."

It doesn't hurt that the gym overlooks One Las Vegas' expansive resort-style pool, giving residents further motivation to work toward the best shape of their lives for the summer pool season ahead.

Of the twin 20-story towers, DK Las purchased 295 of the project's 359 residences. Homes range from 831 to 2,857 square feet with many floor plans offering views of the mountains and the Strip. One-bedroom homes are priced from the low $200,000s, two-bedroom homes from the high $200,000s and three-bedroom homes from the low $400,000s. The penthouse, offering 3,000 square feet of sweeping views, is priced at $1.1 million.

One Las Vegas is close to Interstate 15 and the 215 Beltway and just minutes from McCarran International Airport. Town Square, a few blocks north of the property, provides one-stop shopping and scores of dining and entertainment options right in the neighborhood.
