‘Property Brothers’ to hold events

The Scott Brothers, HGTV’s twin hosts of “Property Brothers” and “Brother vs. Brother,” will hold two open houses March 30 in Las Vegas for the homes they purchased and renovated for the newest season of “Brother vs. Brother,” currently filming in Las Vegas. Guests need to sign up at the website www.JonathanVSDrew.com to attend both open houses and get the addresses.

The brothers will hold a meet-and-greet and book-signing event that day at 5 p.m. at the Design Center, 495 S. Grand Central Parkway No. 2203. Fans will need to have proof of purchase of their new book, “Dream Home,” for entry. The brothers will take photos and sign autographs for fans.

All proceeds from the sale of the houses will be given to Rebuilding Together in Las Vegas, a charity dedicated to preserving affordable homeownership and improve the lives of low-income homeowners.

Trade groups present real estate expo

Real Estate Expo Las Vegas is a two-day event that kicks off April 8 at Cashman Center. The event will bring together local homebuilders and real estate professionals to showcase “all things real estate under one roof.” The Expo is designed to benefit industry professionals, would-be homebuyers, investors, boomerang buyers or people with a general interest in real estate.

The Expo is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 8, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 9. It will showcase educational and informational sessions scheduled to cover topics such as the homebuying process, mortgage financing, financial planning, home technology and programs to help homebuyers.

Primary partners of the Real Estate Expo Las Vegas include the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association and the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. Senior cohousing event slated

A local group who wishes to form a senior cohousing project plans to hold a meeting April 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water St. in Henderson. There is a $10 cash/check donation per family requested at the door.

Katie McCamant will be a speaker at the event. She is one of the nation’s leading cohousing experts, having designed and developed dozens of communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

She and her husband, Chuck Durrett, introduced cohousing to North America with their book “Creating Cohousing: Building Sustainable Communities.”

After living in Doyle Street Cohousing in Emeryville, Calif., for 12 years, she now lives at Nevada City Cohousing.

McCamant has been integral in the development of multiple senior cohousing communities, including Wolf Creek Lodge in Grass Valley, Calif., and Oakcreek Senior Co-housing in Stillwater, Okla.
