‘Run In’ the New Year at Cadence’s New Year’s Double Dash

The developers of Cadence, a 2,200-acre planned community in Henderson, is bringing back the Cadence New Year’s Double Dash for another run, literally, on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

The second Cadence New Year’s Double Dash will begin with on-site registration at 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, then kicks off with a 5K run and 1-mile walk at 10:30 p.m., marking the final Southern Nevada run of 2016. Shortly after the clock strikes midnight, ringing in the New Year — and a mini-celebration in Cadence’s Central Park — another 5K will begin at 12:15 a.m., marking the first Southern Nevada run of 2017.

All routes will wind through Cadence’s well-lit, picturesque grounds and feature panoramic views of the world-famous Strip. The running events will culminate at the community’s expansive Central Park, where registered participants may enjoy a warm cup of soup, hot cider and cocoa, New Year’s tunes and party favors, while viewing the Strip’s fireworks show from a heated tent.

“With rapid growth and a lot of excitement at Cadence, we are excited to have our New Year’s Double Dash return for another year,” said Cheryl Persinger, spokesperson for The LandWell Co., developer of Cadence. “This festive evening is perfect for seasoned pros, enthusiastic but casual runners, or those looking for something different and rewarding to do on New Year’s Eve.”

Registration is open at CadenceNV.com, with discounted registration options available for children 10 and under, or adults who run both 5Ks.

Cadence is an outdoor lover’s haven, boasting 450 acres of open space that includes a 50-acre central park and 100-acre sports park. In addition to the Double Dash, the community offers a bike share program, free Wi-Fi in public parks, and interconnects with the many Henderson bicycle and walking trails, such as the Las Vegas Wash Trail and River Mountains Loop Trail.

The LandWell Co. is the real estate development division of Basic Management Inc., which has a distinguished history in Southern Nevada. The 13,250-home community offers a variety of residential neighborhoods with a broad cross section of homes starting from the low $200,000s.
