Spanish Palms condo community offers FHA financing program

Originally from El Salvador, Daniel and Sonia Hernandez have lived in the United States for more than three decades, planting their roots in California for 29 years before moving to Las Vegas in 2014. When the couple began exploring their options to “right-size” their lifestyle, they discovered that Spanish Palms offered everything they were looking for and more. Thanks to Spanish Palms’ Federal Housing Administration financing program, the Hernandezes are now owners of a one-bedroom home in the gated condominium community at 5220 S. Rainbow and Hacienda boulevards.

“I spent 31 years working as a nursing assistant and Daniel worked as a janitor in the Van Nuys Airport in California,” Sonia said. “We have always worked so hard to provide better lives for our children, and it’s finally our turn to enjoy life in our golden years. Knowing that we wanted a maintenance-free lifestyle, Daniel and I explored many other condominium communities, but none could compare to the wonderful value that comes with owning a home at Spanish Palms.”

The Hernandezes met with Brent Barrett, a mortgage banker with The Federal Savings Bank, Spanish Palms’ preferred lender that offers FHA, Veterans Affairs and conventional loan programs. Barrett guided the couple through every step of the homebuying process and FHA financing application, making the experience an enjoyable one. The couple purchased a one-bedroom home, which is a nice change from their previous home that required too much maintenance.

“One of the biggest benefits to being a resident at Spanish Palms is the security and the management’s commitment to our safety,” Daniel said. “I’ve accidentally left our garage door open a few times and to my surprise, nothing was touched or taken. You just can’t put a price tag on peace of mind.”

Sonia loves the ample windows, which brighten up their entire home with natural light. She also admires the mature and well-manicured trees and landscaping that blankets the whole community. The oasis-inspired pools, picnic areas and built-in barbecue grills provide everything the Hernandezes need to host a fun-filled afternoon with Sonia’s four siblings, who also live in Las Vegas.

“We are so pleased with our new home and are more confident in leaving our home to travel to El Salvador to visit family,” Daniel said. “Now, that we live in Spanish Palms, we know our home and our belongings will be safe and exactly as we left them when we return.”

Spanish Palms offers one, two and three bedroom floor plans ranging between 744 square feet and more than 1,131 square feet, and with homes starting from $131,900. Spanish Palms signature amenities include Central Park, an expanded fitness center, business center and conference room inside the clubhouse.
