.The Howard Hughes Corp. announces new custom home neighborhood in The Ridges at Summerlin

The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of the Summerlin master-planned community, has announced the launch of a new custom home neighborhood in The Ridges, the community’s exclusive guard-gated village situated on the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley.

Indigo is The Ridges’ eighth custom neighborhood situated on 22 acres and nestled alongside Bear’s Best golf course. It offers 28 exquisite homesites reserved exclusively for single-level, custom homes on lots ranging from one-half to nearly 1 acre in size.

The neighborhood is within walking distance of Club Ridges, a private fitness-tennis-swim club exclusively for residents of The Ridges.

According to Kevin T. Orrock, Howard Hughes’ Summerlin president, Indigo actively is selling now and interest in the new neighborhood is high.

“The Ridges has long been regarded as a premier enclave in Southern Nevada, offering unparalleled views of the valley due to its elevation and boasting one of the most exceptional locations adjacent the Spring Mountains and Red Rock Canyon. As The Ridges’ newest custom neighborhood, Indigo is proving exceptionally popular given its intimate size and single-level home design criteria.”

Located high above the Las Vegas Valley, where Desert Inn Road meets the mountains, The Ridges is aptly named. The area’s dramatic, rocky ridges and nearby Red Rock Canyon form the foundation of the community’s elegant design aesthetic, while creating a stunning backdrop that’s impossible to replicate in Southern Nevada. Homes in The Ridges are required to embody the community’s desert contemporary style and design guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality throughout. Yet, creativity is beautifully and uniquely expressed in the designs of many of the region’s premier architects.

There are many reasons why The Ridges in Summerlin is the literal pinnacle of luxury living in Las Vegas, according to Orrock.

“The Ridges’ elevation at 3,000-plus feet above sea level and location on a westernmost ridgeline makes it one of the most scenic spots in Summerlin, delivering consistently cooler temperatures, and offering expansive and commanding views of the entire valley.”

Today The Ridges is home to more than 250 completed custom homes, the majority of which are primary residences, ensuring a year-round vibrancy often missing from other luxury communities. The Ridges is also home to three neighborhoods comprising luxurious production homes ready for immediate move-in and awaiting the personal touches of new homeowners ready to make these statement houses their homes.

At the center of The Ridges is Bear’s Best Las Vegas, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course that features replications of his most famous holes from courses in the Southwest. The golf course runs throughout the village, providing a ribbon of green open space, and enhancing the views and sense of privacy of many homes and neighborhoods.
