William Lyon’s wins ‘Community of the Year’

For the third straight year, William Lyon Homes took home top honors from the Southern Nevada Home Builders’ Silver Nugget Awards gala. The 2016 award presentation was held March 19 at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas, an annual event that honors “the best and brightest in the local homebuilding industry.”

The 2016 Community of the Year award was presented for Lago Vista — William Lyon’s luxury neighborhood at Lake Las Vegas. The builder also received five additional Silver Nuggets for individual home designs at their Lago Vista and Brookshire Estates communities.

“This is an incredible honor for our entire team,” said Kim Chitwood, director of marketing for William Lyon Homes. “To receive such an acknowledgment from our industry peers not just once or twice, but three years in a row — well, it’s both humbling and exhilarating.

“In fact, both communities we presented for consideration received multiple awards and did so in the company of very worthy competition from area builders. That’s not only confirmation to us that we remain on the right path in every aspect of our planning, design, and quality — it’s also a huge win for our homebuyers. We hope it provides them even greater assurance that the trust and faith they place in buying a William Lyon home was — and always will be — rewarded with industry-recognized excellence.”

Lago Vista’s top award will join those won by William Lyon for the two prior years: The 2015 Home of the Year for Plan Two of The Premier Collection at Sterling Ridge within The Ridges at Summerlin; and 2014 Community of the Year for Lyon Estates in the northwest part of the Las Vegas Valley.

Taking several Silver Nugget awards, William Lyon won five of the nine categories in which their homes were nominated as finalists. Along with the top win of the night, the following five homes received individual recognition in their respective classifications:

■ Lago Vista Plan One – Single Family, Luxury Detached Home

■ Lago Vista Plan Two — Design and Architecture over 4,000 square feet

■ Brookshire Estates Plan Three – Single Family, Detached Home

■ Brookshire Estates Plan Three — Design and Architecture, 3,001-4,000 square feet

■ Brookshire Estates Plan Four — Design and Architecture, Multi-Generational Space

The recent addition of a new single-story design at Lago Vista brings the total count to four one- and two-story luxurious homes. Featuring from 3,733 to 5,032 square feet, these designs offer as many as four bedrooms, four baths, two powder rooms, loft and three garage bays. Priced from the mid-$700,000’s, Lago Vista is a limited offering of only 52 properties.

Adjacent to the newly restored Reflection Bay Golf Club, the model homes overlook Lake Las Vegas and golf course greens, while offering views of surrounding mountainsides. Residents enjoy private beach access to Lake Las Vegas, and the central location of this gated community places it near The Village, which includes access to many other area amenities.

A William Lyon Signature Home community, Lago Vista adheres to a level of excellence in construction. Notable is the use of huge glass expanses at windows, multi-slide and glass corner pocket doors — key to creating a truly inspired indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Included features offer floating staircases that rise to open second-floor bridges, immense gathering spaces with great rooms; covered veranda and interior courtyard; wet bars and sophisticated kitchens with islands and eating bars; and dedicated baths for all secondary bedrooms.

The estate-sized homes of Brookshire Estates are in the southwest Las Vegas Valley near Durango Road and the Interstate 215 Beltway. Only 10 home sites remain in this limited collection of four single-story plans.

Comfort and luxury are keywords at this gated community that showcases the dynamic indoor-outdoor lifestyle William Lyon Homes has perfected.

Plans range from 3,561 to 4,027 square feet with as many as five bedrooms, 4½ baths and as many as four garage bays. The homes of Brookshire Estates are priced from the high $500,000s. A dedicated design consultant is at William Lyon Homes’ Design Studio in Downtown Summerlin.

Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2016, William Lyon Homes offers 13 communities throughout the greater Las Vegas area, with new additions scheduled to open in 2016.

With prices that range from the mid-$150,000s to over $1 million. For more information, visit www.LyonHomes.com/Nevada.
