Real Estate Expo Las Vegas slated for April

When Real Estate Expo Las Vegas kicks off on April 8 at Cashman Center, it will mark the first time that local homebuilders and real estate professionals join forces to showcase "all things real estate under one roof" in a one-of-a-kind, two-day event. The Expo is designed to benefit industry professionals, would-be home buyers, investors, boomerang buyers or those who are simply interested in real estate.

"This is not your typical expo with miles of aisles of booths, and it's not a home show," Expo Unlimited coordinator Michael Sweeney said. "We're presenting a fully immersive experience that offers information for anyone interested in buying a home and for anyone interested in just about any aspect of Southern Nevada's world of real estate."

Adam Courrier, Expo Unlimited spokesman, added that the two-day event will take attendees on a mini tour of the Las Vegas Valley. When guests enter the Expo, he said they'll walk into an area made to represent Interstate 15 and the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign.

"Booths will wrap around the 50,000 square feet of floor space laid out in a geographically accurate map of the Las Vegas Valley," Courrier said. "Attendees can visit booths representing all the valley's major developments, from Downtown Las Vegas to master-planned communities from Summerlin to Green Valley in Henderson."

This event is free and open to the public.

The Expo will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 8, and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 9. The Expo will kick off the morning of April 8 with the Las Vegas Housing Outlook presentation by Home Builders Research President Dennis Smith and special guests, who will share statistical and demographic information about the local housing market and projections for 2016.

The Expo is expected to attract thousands of prospective homebuyers each day, Sweeney said. It will feature about 60 exhibitors, including leading local homebuilders, master-planned communities, real estate firms, individual Realtors, mortgage lenders, government agencies and utilities.

Additionally, nearly 30 educational and informational sessions are scheduled to cover topics such as the homebuying process, mortgage financing, financial planning, home technology and programs to help homebuyers. Other sessions will offer continuing education credits for Realtors and other industry professionals.

Exhibits and informational sessions will address issues for everyone from first-time buyers to move-up and downsizing home buyers to boomerang buyers, who are recovering from the recession or bankruptcy to members of the millennial generation who are considering a home.

Primary partners of the Real Estate Expo Las Vegas include the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association and the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors. Additional sponsors include the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Wendoh Media, Southwest Gas, Running Bull Productions and TrainNTour Real Estate Education.
