The Fountains of Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South, are among the most popular attractions on the Strip, free or otherwise.

Featured as part of the 8.5 acre Lake Como in front of the resort, the fountains remain a technological marvel that captivate passers-by.

More than 1,200 dancing fountains send water spraying as high as 460 feet into the air, making the attraction the largest musical fountain system in the world. More than 4,000 individual white lights illuminate the lake as the water "dances" to music. The fountains are programmed to respond to musical cues, causing the water to perform an aquatic ballet every day.

Performances take place every 30 minutes from 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays and noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight daily.

Strip Tips is a weekly feature by Sonya Padgett that highlights attractions and activities on the Las Vegas Strip.
