Down the Aisle

Wedding season traditionally begins in June, but not if you live in Las Vegas. The wave of white dresses crashes into town mid-February.

For those upcoming brides who get nauseous thinking about a trip to David's Bridal, we have just the solution. Go designer. In some cases the price points will surprise you (Vera Wang starts at $2,650). And, if you consider yourself a true fashion plate, there's no better way to ensure a gown with painstaking attention to style and detail.

Take a look at the variety of designer gown options out there.

LOOK AT ME

For some brides, subtle just won't do. Dramatic features such as the pleats and bubble skirt on this Vera Wang gown make it hard not to notice her. Wang is largely credited for taking bridal gowns out of cookie cutter formula and bringing them into high fashion.

HOPELESS ROMANTIC

The lace and bow details on this Carolina Herrera gown set a romantic tone ideal for the big day. This design's hem hits the floor during the nuptials and has a removable bottom for the reception. According to the owners of Couture Bride, a local designer bridal salon, changeable features are a celebrity-driven trend this season.

IT WAS DESTINY

Getting hitched on an island in Hawaii, Mexico or the Caribbean has become such a popular move that bridal designers now dedicate generous portions of their collections to destination gowns. This sheath from Monique Lhuillier, the current "It" designer in the bridal industry, packs well for the destination bride. The bolero infuses excitement. (Pictured on Page 7.)

ELOPE ELATION

Consider donning an elegant skirt suit if it's the second time around or you and your groom just prefer a modest wedding over a big to-do. This one from Oscar de la Renta exudes Jackie O, who the acclaimed designer used to dress.
