Not in the Buff

Hilary Duff continues to achieve the impossible. Not only is she one of the last starlets left to avoid a DUI and a pantiless pose, she also proves during an MTV "TRL" appearance that Daisy Dukes can go beyond backyard barbecues. Bravo, Duff, for both tasks but today we'll focus on the shorts.
Much like the keys to a well-stocked liquor cabinet, most 20 year olds can't be trusted with a pair of short shorts. They tend to abuse the already risky garment with the kind of accessories that have stigmatized the shorts for years: flip flops, half shirts, a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon. But Duff here passes over the fashion repellent for items that create a stylish, age-appropriate look any children's cable network would be proud to claim.
First, she detracts attention from the shorts and up to her face with the sleeveless tomato blouse. The vibrant color and face-framing floral feature almost make us forget that the shorts' hem is so short it nearly exposes Duff's chastity belt. Keeping with the fun, flirty tone, the actress/singer throws on a pair of oversized hoops that peak out from behind her blonde locks.
Last but not least, Duff's footwear selection. This is where one makes or breaks the look. A flat threatens to stout the frame and a tall heel ushers the look into the champagne room. This nude, pointy pump keeps the rating a solid PG-13.
To mimic Duff's look, consider these options.
