Taking a Risk on Fashion

Only a few celebrities at the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards missed the white out memo.

While Eva Mendes, Salma Hayek, Kate Beckinsale, Catherine Keener, Demi Moore, Sandra Bullock, Penelope Cruz, Vanessa Hudgens, Catherine Keneer, Jane Krakowski and Miley Cyrus all dazzled in white, a few kids dared to do their own thing.

Here's a look at the evening's risk takers, those who bet big on the red carpet. Some enjoyed huge payoffs. Others came out broke.

THE WINNERS

Maggie Gyllenhaal: She proves that glamour comes in all prints and cuts. This one-shoulder Lanvin gown in blue cheetah made Gyllenhaal the most impressive vision of the evening.

Heidi Klum: The "Project Runway" host's vintage Galliano cocktail dress, giant rose accessory and gladiator stilettos somehow harmonize into a knockout number.

THE LOSERS

Blake Lively: All she's missing with this snug, strapless Nina Ricci number is a car window to lean into. And to think Lively went on and on during a red carpet interview about how she doesn't need a stylist.

Jennifer Lopez: This neckline (Marchesa) is her version of the tattered high school letterman's jacket. Someone needs to tell Lopez that her barely there dress days are over.

BREAKING EVEN

Drew Barrymore: The dreamy Galliano for Dior dress, creamy complexion and exquisite accessories fulfill all our fashion fantasies. But, the Marilyn Monroe hair and makeup? You be the judge.
