The Chic Wedding Guest
June 6, 2008 - 9:00 pm
By now the wedding invitations have overwhelmed both you and your mailbox. So many nuptials to see, so few outfit options. Whatever you do, don't don the same outfit to every ceremony. Instead, pay careful attention to the details and plan each look accordingly.
Here, we show you what to wear to weddings held in four different locations. No matter whether it's a black tie event, garden affair, destination wedding or a rush to the courthouse, chances are, each look already calls your closet home.
wedding wrongdoings
We won't bore you with wedding etiquette. Rather, we'd like to touch on a few things you should never wear to a wedding.
• White or ivory: You should know why. Don't steal thunder from the bride's day.
• Big hats: Everyone wants to see the big kiss that seals the deal. Don't let your hat deprive someone's view.
• Hosiery and heavy makeup: Not to a summer wedding. You will regret it within five minutes.
• Revealing clothing: Especially if it's a church ceremony, but for any other type of wedding, it's simply bad taste.
• Denim: Come on, show some respect, not just to the bride and groom, but to yourself as well.
