• Are handbags status symbols? Absolutely! Kathy Van Zeeland uses crowns on a lot of pieces in her collection so she's very popular in the pageant world.

• What does this bag say about you? My favorite color is purple so it makes me happy every time I see it. It also fits a ton of stuff which is perfect for my busy life as Miss Nevada.

• If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? They would probably think that I was very concerned with my looks. I always have makeup and a couple varieties of lip gloss.

• What's the most important item you've ever carried in your bag? My crown. It carries so many memories and symbolizes everything I have worked so hard for.

• What's the strangest? My guinea pig. I had to take her to the vet and I didn't want to leave her in the car when I had an errand to run after.

• Tell us about the first handbag you remember owning. I had a Barbie purse that I loved when I was little. It was bright pink and came with strawberry lip gloss.

• Knockoffs: Love 'em or hate 'em? Love them! I have a great Coach knockoff. I get compliments on it all the time and people never know the difference.

• What's in your bag?  Wet 'n' Wild lip gloss,  MAC blush in mocha, MAC Studio Fix foundation,  Pure Protein protein bar, my favorite picture of my dad (he passed away in '03).
