The Southern Nevada Health District will offer free seasonal flu vaccinations beginning Monday. The health district had planned to charge $32 for the flu shot and $43 for the inhaled flu vaccine.
Though health officials said Thursday they want everyone over 6 months of age to get a flu shot, they also said only enough vaccine will be available for about half of the more than 310 million Americans. But that shouldn’t be a problem, because misconceptions about flu shots continue to keep people from being vaccinated.
Clark County commissioners Wednesday chose 11 people with diverse backgrounds for an advisory board they hope will make University Medical Center become more efficient and evolve into a teaching hospital.
There are certain health conditions that women are more predisposed to than men, among those diseases are breast cancer, cervical cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis and a wide array of health conditions — but what a lot of women don’t know is that biologically, their vision health is also more at risk than a man’s.
