Hills Park hosts Diamond in the Desert Blues Festival

The inaugural Diamond in the Desert Blues Festival is set to take place Oct. 6 at Hills Park, 9100 Hillpointe Road.
Featured acts include Bobby Womack, Sir Charles Jones, Denise La Salle, Marvin Sease and Shirley Brown.
The event also will highlight food, arts and crafts and merchandise from more than 30 vendors, community groups and artists.
Gates open at noon and the show kicks off at 1 p.m.
Tickets for the Diamond in the Desert Blues Festival are available at all Ticketmaster locations, www.ticketmaster.com, Sight & Sound Music Center, or by phone at 474-4000. VIP tickets are $75 and include two drinks. General admission tickets are $55.
"This event is really about a celebration of culture, and chance for Las Vegas to enjoy some great blues artists," said Vanetta Pease, spokeswoman for the festival.
The show will be produced by KCEP-FM 88.1 in conjunction with Chimera Consulting Group, LLC. Both are nonprofit organizations.
