Arts society recognizes best in design industry

The Architectural & Decorative Arts Society celebrated the best in the hospitality, contract and residential design industry during its recent ADAS Awards ceremony.

Held in the grand ballroom at Green Valley Ranch Resort, the black-tie event was hosted by Tricia Keen and Nina Radetich of KTNV Channel 13 and included entertainment by Allen Fawcett.

Carolyn Muse Grant, founding president and editor of Southern Nevada Home & Garden, presented the awards to recognize achievements on an individual project, body of work and extraordinary contributions to the community.

Individual project awards were given to Tandem, best restaurant and best public space; MGM Mirage Design Group, best hotel; Carpenter Sellers, best corporate/professional office and best retail space; Paragon Pools, best pool design; Melinda McGeorge, best model home; and Sannene Garehime, best residential design.

Awards for a body of work were given to Todd Avery Lenahan of Avery Brooks & Associates, best interior design firm; and MGM Mirage Design Group, best builder/developer.

Special awards for their contributions to the community were given to Robert A. Fielden, who was recognized for his sense of community development and personal support of the fine arts; and Domingo Camberio, who was recognized for his commitment to the development of higher education in Las Vegas.

A portion of proceeds from the event were donated to Safe Nest, a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Started about a year and a half ago, the Architectural & Decorative Arts Society has grown to become among the largest professional organizations for the hospitality, contract and residential design and development industry in Las Vegas. Its goal is to create a strong, integrated community of the most creative and forward-thinking people in the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

ADAS has a Taste of the Town mixer at various locations around the valley on the second Wednesday of the month.
