Duraflame sponsors 'Green' sweepstakes

Duraflame, maker of the new bio-wax firelogs, is debuting its "Get Stoked to Go Green" sweepstakes.

Entrants in the sweepstakes will be eligible to win an in-home consultation with green design expert Linda Woodrum of HGTV. The winner also will receive $20,000 to help make their ecofriendly home a reality.

The sweepstakes begins Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 31.

Entry forms for the sweepstakes can be found at www.duraflame.com. Additionally, each entrant will receive a downloadable coupon for $6 off the purchase of two cases of any type of duraflame firelogs, a low-emission alternative to cordwood.

Recently, Duraflame made its products even greener by eliminating the use of petroleum wax and switching to an all-natural, renewable bio-wax formula in the manufacturing process.

"There are so many ways for people to be greener in their lives and in their homes," Woodrum said. "Being conscious about what is burning in the fireplace is one step to being greener."

According to the manufacturer, using the newly formulated logs instead of cordwood reduces emissions by as much as 80 percent.
