Today marks fall watering schedule

Fall watering restrictions take effect today through Oct. 31. Drought restrictions limit sprinkler watering from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to three assigned days per week. Drip irrigation may be used any day of the week, but is limited to three days per week. Sunday is not an optional watering day.

Learn art of Japanese flower arranging

The Ikenobo Ikebana Society, Nevada chapter Japanese flower arranging society will host a workshop Sept. 8 at the Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

Join club members for a new season of learning at this one-of-a-kind class, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Only fresh flowers are used for class demonstrations. Nonmembers are welcome.

Green living theme of landscape show

The Desert Green landscape and show is set for Oct. 11-12 at Sam's Town.

This year's theme, Environmentally Aware and Prepared, will offer industry professionals the chance to showcase advances in pesticide training, irrigation strategies and landscape design challenges and solutions.
