Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Tuesday at the Rock: A moderate four-mile hike Tuesday with some rock scrambling around the Calico Hills (515-5367).

Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, Full Moon: Meet at the Tour Gate Friday at 7:45 p.m. for a two-hour hike with some bouldering in the wash at Sandstone Canyon. Arrive 15 minutes early, as the park gates close when the hike starts. No dogs or children under 12 years old allowed (875-4141).

Red Rock Audubon Society: Meet at 7 a.m. Saturday at McDonald's on the southeast side of US Highway 95 on Durango Drive and Farm Road to car pool for a birding field trip at Mount Charleston. All ages welcome. Bring water, snacks and lunch (390-9890).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people, 50 years and over, interested in hiking and related social activities will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe Casino 4949 N. Rancho Drive, South Parking Garage, on the left of Level 3, for a moderate three-hour hike at Mount Charleston (642-2285).

Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club: A 6:15 a.m. moderate to fast 15-20 mile, leader in front/leader sweeps, road ride is scheduled for Wednesday through Desert Shores, Sun City and Summerlin.
