Fishing Report, May 10

■ LAKE MEAD - Fishing has been good for largemouth and smallmouth bass. Anglers are catching more fish but fewer large ones than in recent weeks. Drop shots and tubes have been effective. Striped bass are taking cut baits south of Echo Bay, with the best action at night. Small stripers are biting in the Vegas Wash area, and the catfish bite is improving.

■ LAKE MOHAVE - Anglers are finding fair action for striped bass at Willow Beach. Double-digit stripers are hitting AC Plugs. Some fish have weighed in at more than 20 pounds. Striped bass action is a little slower out of Cottonwood Cove, but the catfish bite is picking up for fish averaging 2 pounds. Plastics and jigs continue to catch largemouth and smallmouth bass.

■ LAUGHLIN - Fishing is good for striped bass and rainbow trout. Anglers continue to catch holdover fish along Casino Row. Look for trout in the deeper pockets where they can escape the heat.

■ URBAN PONDS - Bluegill are biting on meal worms fished on the bottom with small hooks. Bigger, older fish have just come off the nest at Floyd Lamb Park and are hungry. Catfish action has slowed, but anglers can still catch one if they are patient. Chicken liver, night crawlers and commercial stink baits are productive. The Nevada Department of Wildlife plans to stock catfish next week. The limit is three fish.

■ KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA - Anglers have found action for largemouth bass and rainbow trout. Trout tend to congregate near the dams this time of year. With warming temperatures, panfish should begin biting as well.

■ EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR - Anglers have found good fishing for rainbow and tiger trout. A few German brown trout are showing up as well. One brown weighed in at nearly 5 pounds, and another pushed the 3-pound mark. Effective baits include spinners, lures, flies, night crawlers and PowerBait. Anglers have found that tiger trout like gold or silver lures. Bass have been caught at the lake's upper end.

■ ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR - Anglers are catching rainbow trout and largemouth bass along with a few crappie. The crappie are hitting small jigs fished about 5 inches below a bobber. PowerBait, night crawlers and a variety of small spinners and lures are catching trout.
