“The Hunger Games” film and the trilogy of novels upon which it was based has as its heroine a teenager skilled with a bow and arrow. It seems everybody wants to be like Katniss Everdeen. Danny Nelson has seen it as archery manager at Sportsman’s Warehouse and archery rangemaster at the Clark County Shooting Complex.
Question: Our mature shrubs have just gone through a summer growth spurt that seems to be unusual compared to previous summers. How much can we prune them?
If you have ever driven to Utah from Las Vegas, your route was by way of Mesquite. Most of us just bypass the town, little realizing there are good reasons to stop at least a few hours. Mesquite has preserved many of its historic buildings and much of its small-town charm.
Question: We have a crape myrtle tree in our southwest back yard. It gets plenty of water, and I fertilized it last month with some Miracle Grow flowering fertilizer. At the time, there were some burned edges on some of the leaves and some yellowing. Now it is really burned on the edges of all of the leaves with yellowing. HELP!
