The city of Las Vegas Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services has opened registration for its spring break and summer camps.

Registration for spring break camps is available for camps that are set to run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 18-22.

Youths ages 6 to 15 will stay busy with age-appropriate activities, including sports, games, special events and arts and crafts under the supervision of staff members. Camps are priced at $75 for the first child for the week and $70 for each additional child from the same household.

Participants must bring a sack lunch, a beverage and a snack every day.

UNLV PGA Golf Management Program plans fundraiser on April 29

The UNLV PGA Golf Management Program is accepting donations for a Golfathon fundraiser it plans to host on April 29 at Angel Park Golf Club, 100 S. Rampart Blvd.

Students will play 100 holes of golf to raise funds for breast cancer research. Students are receiving pledges and donations at unlvpgagolfathon.
dojiggy.com. The goal is to raise $20,000 for Par for the Cure and UNLV's own golf program.

Girl Scouts can sign up
for summer camp

Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is accepting camper registrations for summer camp sessions, set for June 19 to Aug. 14.

Camp Foxtail in the Toiyabe National Forest provides Girl Scouts ages 8 to 17 with traditional resident camp experiences, with activities such as hiking, biking, rock climbing, high and low adventure courses, singing and arts and crafts.

Session prices range from $300 to $350, and girls must be registered members of Girl Scouts to attend. Membership is $12 annually and can be purchased at the same time as camp sessions.

Register by June 1 and save $25.

Pilates and Yoga studio plans
special deals during open house

Pilates+Yoga plans to mark its second anniversary at its 500 E. Windmill Lane location with an open house featuring complimentary mini-massages, fruit smoothies, mini yoga and Pilates demonstrations and special discounts from noon-2 p.m. Saturday.

The public is welcome to mix and mingle with the instructors while enjoying live music by members of the local band Medusa Tango. Fifteen-minute demonstrations of exercises will be presented.

Raffle prizes will be given away each half hour courtesy of the studio, and all attendees will have the chance to purchase a 10-class yoga Pilates mat package for $50 or a 10-class Pilates apparatus package for $100. Package specials include restrictions.

Jazzercise classes scheduled

Jazzercise is offering new customers free unlimited Jazzercise classes for April when they join with auto-pay registration.

Each 60-minute class mixes jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kick boxing and Latin-style movements set to popular music. Participants can burn up to 600 calories per class.
