RELIGION NOTES

MUSIC

Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1798 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson, will present its annual "Do-It-Yourself Handel's 'Messiah,' " featuring the Las Vegas Peoples Valley Chorus and the Musica Lumina Chamber Orchestra, at 7 p.m. Dec. 8. A goodwill offering will be received. The event is a fundraising effort for St. Therese Center in Henderson. Rehearsals will be at 10 a.m. today, and Dec. 4 and 7 p.m. Wednesday. A dress rehearsal will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 (454-8484).

Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive, will present the Christmas musical "God Coming Down" at 7 p.m. Dec. 8-10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free. Child care will be provided for ages 4 and younger at the church's child care center (880-7811).

HANUKKAH

The M Resort will celebrate Hanukkah with an indoor menorah lighting at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Assistant Rabbi Leonard Zukrow of Congregation Ner Tamid will lead the lighting and prayer. The menorah will be on display in the main lobby Wednesday through Dec. 9 at 12300 Las Vegas Blvd. South (797-1000).

A menorah ceremony will be presented at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fremont Street Experience, downtown between Main Street and Las Vegas Boulevard (678-5777).

The B'nai Israel Jewish Fellowship will present a Hanukkah festival featuring prayer, Jewish music, sing-alongs and entertainment at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Suncoast, 9090 Alta Drive. A service will be conducted by Rabbi Mel Hecht. Admission is free, but reservations are required (523-1818).

Temple Sinai, 9001 Hillpointe Road, will have a Hanukkah Celebration featuring a dinner, Chanukiah lighting, games, dancing and a drawing at 5 p.m. Dec. 4. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. For adults, fees are $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers. For ages 3-12, fees are $18 for members and $25 for nonmembers. Children 2 and younger are free. EVENTS

"The Establishment of the Era of Universal Peace: One Family Under God," featuring entertainment, speakers and a keynote address from the founder of Universal Peace Federation the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, will be 1-5 p.m. today at Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The event is open to the public.

St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, will have its annual fall holiday craft sale featuring handmade afghans, scarves and hats, baby clothing items, religious items, baked goods and other items, 2-7 p.m. Dec. 11 and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Dec. 12 (565-8406).

Stillpoint Center for Spiritual Development, 8072 W. Sahara Ave., presents Peace Dancers at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month. The Dances of Universal Peace are multicultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music and movements. A $10 donation is suggested (243-4040).

The Las Vegas Diamond Way Buddhist Group offers guided meditation and dharma talks at 7:45 p.m. Thursdays (260-4426).
