EVENTS

The annual 300 Women in Unison event "The Struggle is Over" will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at Unity Baptist Church, 545 Marion Drive (459-2263).

The annual Lights For Life prayer vigil will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Lloyd George U.S. Courthouse, 333 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The interdenominational gathering is sponsored by the Diocesan Pro Life Office (212-6472).

Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road, will have "A Night of Compassion" to raise funds for the victims of the Haiti earthquake at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 in the church auditorium. The event will feature Christian ventriloquist and comedian Taylor Mason, worship and prayer. The event is free, and a freewill offering will be accepted. Funds raised will go to the agency Compassion International (658-2722).

Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway, will have an organ dedication followed by a reception at 7 p.m. Feb. 5 (735-0871).

A Right to Life Mass with Las Vegas Catholic Bishop Joseph Pepe will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way (735-5241).

MEETINGS

CLASSES

Canyon Ridge Christian Church, 6200 W. Lone Mountain Road, will offer a seminar featuring authors Henry Cloud and John Townsend, co-authors of the "Boundaries" series, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 30 in Room C100. The authors will appear live via satellite to discuss establishing healthy boundaries in relationships and in life. Seating is limited and child care will not be available. Stillpoint: Center for Spiritual Development presents a discussion by Noah Blumenthal, author of "Be the Hero: Three Powerful Ways to Overcome Challenges in Work and Life," at 3 p.m. Jan. 30 at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Las Vegas LDS Temple decision challenged in court

A group has asked a court to review the Las Vegas City Council’s decision to approve a controversial proposal to build an LDS temple near Lone Mountain.
