5-year-old pulled from east Las Vegas pool, taken to hospital

A 5-year-old child was hospitalized after being pulled from a swimming pool in the east valley Sunday evening, Las Vegas police said.

Police received a call about the possible drowning at 7:25 p.m. at a home in the 3900 block of La Brea Court, according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Grant Rogers.

Fire officials took the child to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Rogers said.

As of 9:45 p.m., the child was alive and being treated at the hospital, Metro Lt. C.J. Jenkins said.

No additional information was immediately available.
