No police in most Las Vegas schools

The only armed personnel at Clark County School District campuses are the 140 school police officers. Two officers are permanently stationed at each of the 49 high schools.

But the 59 middle schools, 217 elementary schools and 32 other schools don't have any officers on site unless help is requested, meaning 86 percent of the schools don't have armed personnel as an immediate defense.

Many of these schools do have campus security monitors, which number 270 districtwide, but they're unarmed.
