3 hikers found safe in Sloan Canyon in Henderson

Police searched for about two hours Wednesday evening for three stranded hikers in the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area in Henderson.
The three women were reported lost at about 6:10 p.m. to the Henderson Police Department, police spokeswoman Michelle French said. A Metropolitan Police Department air unit was also assisting in the search.
The hikers were found uninjured just after 8:10 p.m., Henderson police said.

Family members were communicating with Metro officers during the search over text messages, French said.
