Firefighter hurt while battling condo fire in Henderson

A firefighter was hurt Wednesday afternoon while battling a second-story condominium fire in Henderson, a spokeswoman said.

Henderson Fire Department crews were called about 5:40 p.m. to a complex near Eastern and Wigwam avenues, spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said.

A sprinkler system helped contain the fire, Richards said; arriving firefighters knocked it down quickly.

She said the firefighter was hurt during the incident and hospitalized with a survivable injury. What sort of injury wasn’t clear.

Preliminary reports that the fire displaced two people, she said; neither were injured.

The fire’s cause and the extent of damage were unknown Wednesday evening.
