Water seen erupting from Henderson sidewalk

Water was seen erupting out of a sidewalk in Henderson after a single vehicle crash Monday evening.

Traffic cameras from the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada showed water erupting from a sidewalk next to an overturned car near the intersection of St. Rose Parkway and Coronado Center Drive around 4:50 p.m.

The driver, who was the only person in the crash, was not injured, according to the City of Henderson.

Henderson said Coronado Center traffic will be shut down between Sienna Heights Drive and St. Rose Parkway for an undetermined amount of time until the city can shut the water valve off.

Traffic is being diverted to Sienna Heights, the city said. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

The city added that the eruption will not affect any homes in the area.
