Updated August 24, 2022 - 11:58 am

One person was killed and a toddler was injured in a crash in east Las Vegas early Wednesday.

Las Vegas police said at 2:05 a.m. a 2001 Cadillac Deville was headed south on Pecos Road when the driver veered off the road for unknown reasons at Charleston Boulevard. The vehicle then smashed into a traffic pole at the southwest corner of the intersection.

An adult driver and the boy in the car were taken to University Medical, police said. The boy was excepted to survive.

The Clark County coroner’s office identified the woman as Crystal Clamenza, 38, of Las Vegas.

The intersection was closed in all directions until 7 a.m. when roads were reopened.
