Best Bet: Think you know jack (-o’-lantern)?

First Friday is celebrating its 10th anniversary by inviting the public to help break 10 pumpkin-related world records. (How many pumpkin-related world records there possibly could be remains a mystery.)

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, stop by the Kids Zone, 1213 Casino Center Blvd., to pick up a free pumpkin to carve and decorate on-site. Carving and decorating materials, as well as snacks and beverages, will be provided.

Then from 5-10 p.m. Friday, First Friday will showcase more than 65 artists, 10 bands and DJs and more than 25 food trucks.

Besides the art on display, two free painting classes provided by Social Paintbrush are scheduled for 7 and 9 p.m.

And the third annual PollyGrind film festival kicks off with a zombie walk and zombie cupcake eating contest at theatre7, 1406 S. Third St.
