THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY OFFERS CHEESECAKE DEAL MONDAY

The Cheesecake Factory plans to mark National Cheesecake Day by offering the any slice, half price promotion for dine-in guests Monday.

SAMMY'S GIVING KIDS FREE MESSY SUNDAES FOR READING

All five Las Vegas Valley Sammy's Woodfired Pizza & Grill locations are offering a free Messy Sundae to children 12 or younger who read and list eight books on a Reading is Rewarding card.

The card must include a teacher's or parent's signature. One card will be offered per table and one offer per party of four or fewer. The promotion is available through Aug. 31. CAESARS ENTERTAINMENT, MILLER HIGH LIFE TEAM UP FOR VETERANS

Miller High Life and Miller High Life Light beer sold at casino bars (excluding Slush Bar) at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon, 3595 Las Vegas Blvd. South; the Southwest Corner Bar, Bugsy's Bar, Garden Bar, X Bar, Lobby Bar, Miller Bar and Poker Bar at Flamingo Las Vegas, 3555 Las Vegas Blvd. South; Carnaval Court and casino bars at Harrah's Las Vegas, 3475 Las Vegas Blvd. South; and casino bars at Imperial Palace, 3535 Las Vegas Blvd. South, will benefit veterans through Sept. 3.

For each beer sold at these select bars, the cap or tab will be kept, and 10 cents will be donated to provide veterans with a variety of "High Life" experiences, such as throwing out the first pitch at a professional baseball game or unique access to motor sports events.

Miller High Life and Miller High Life Light will be $1 or $2, and guests must be 21 or older and pay in cash to participate.

TOWN SQUARE WELCOMES FRACOS & FRÖCCS EATERY

Fracos & Fröccs recently opened at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near Rave Motion Pictures.

The restaurant puts a twist on traditional tacos and soft drinks, along with offering a selection of sweet treats.

Fracos resemble tacos. Savory versions use mu shu pancakes instead of tortillas, and fillings include grilled chicken, roast beef, pulled pork, and roast turkey and stuffing. Sweet versions use a crepe or a hard shell similar to a waffle cone. Fillings include Nutella, cheesecake or pastry cream and fresh fruit toppings. Salads also are available.

Fröccs are a drink of Central Europe made with wine. Fracos & Fröccs' version features 100 percent fruit juice and a scoop of fresh fruit, ice and seltzer to create a soft drink alternative.

Hours are from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

BORDER GRILL TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL TEQUILA DAY TODAY

Border Grill at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a tequila dinner featuring Ambhar Tequila from Austin, Texas, in honor of National Tequila Day today.

A cocktail and appetizer reception is planned for 6:30 p.m., to be followed by dinner at 7 p.m. A "Spicy Mexican Meets Texas" barbecue dinner is planned with an observation kitchen, smoker and grill station.

The cost is $75 per person for Border Grill VIP Club members and $150 per person for nonmembers.

MARGARITAS AND APPETIZERS CLASS PLANNED AT FERGUSON GALLERY

Les Kincaid, host of the radio wine show "Wines Du Jour," plans to host a Margaritas & Appetizers class from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Ferguson Bath & Kitchen Gallery, 4175 S. Grand Canyon Drive, No. 109. The class will focus on party foods that can be prepared in 20 minutes or less and served at room temperature.

Kincaid plans to host a class on heirloom tomatoes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 31 at Ferguson.

DINNER SET TO BENEFIT PEDIATRIC BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION

Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab at The Forum Shops at Caesars, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a dinner to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at 6 p.m. Friday.

The nonprofit organization seeks to find the cause and cure for childhood brain tumors.

LAGASSE'S STADIUM TO HOST GRILLING CLASSES

Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a series of grilling classes with chef de cuisine Scott Pajak beginning Friday.

The classes will take place at 6 p.m. in a private luxury box with demos and grilling techniques. Guests can try the fire-roasted creations, paired with specialty cocktails.

The Friday class will feature appetizers of chicken wings with Buffalo, smoky barbecue and spicy Cajun sauce, and herb-crusted, crabmeat-stuffed portobello mushrooms with Creole tomato glaze, paired with a blue margarita with Patron Silver, Cointreau, a splash of Blue Curaçao and sour mix. Entrees will be barbecue pork baby back ribs and top sirloin with mashed potatoes, paired with a Kicked Up Bloody Mary with chili-infused vodka.

The Aug. 10 class will feature appetizers of ham hock with black bean chili and baked oysters, paired with a Watermelon Crawl with rum, watermelon, Sprite and pineapple juice. Entrees will be grilled brats and grilled pork loin on bourbon mashed potatoes, paired with a Side Car featuring cognac, triple sec, sour mix and a splash of Rose's Lime.

The Aug. 24 class will feature appetizers of shrimp and Creole Parmesan cheese sauce with grilled asparagus and charred beef and creamy Brie cheese risotto with chive oil, paired with a margarita with Patron Silver, Cointreau and sour mix. Entrees will be Bloody Mary-marinated chicken breast, herb-roasted Yukon Gold potatoes, haricot vert and grilled pork loin on Andouille sausage and cornbread stuffing, paired with a Rusty Nail featuring scotch and Drambuie.

EL SEGUNDO SOL AT FASHION SHOW TO HOST COOKING CLASS SATURDAY

Chef Terry Lynch plans to host a cooking class at El Segundo Sol at Fashion Show Mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd. South, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The menu is set to feature guacamole with sweet corn and shrimp, chicken enchilada with tomatillo serrano sauce and chocolate coconut flan. Drinks will be summer white sangria and strawberry margarita.

The D Las Vegas, 301 Fremont St., has introduced Lobster Palooza and BBQ Bone-O-Rama at the Courtyard Grill, with menu items starting under $10.

Lobster Palooza features lobster Benedict, lobster sliders, lobster tacos, lobster quesadilla, lobster artichoke dip, lobster tail and shrimp scampi, lobster tail and fried shrimp, lobster tail and rib-eye steak, and choose-your-own lobster bar.

BBQ Bone-O-Rama features ribs prepared three ways (KC, Mongolian and Carolina), rib and shrimp combo, rib and lobster combo, rib and backed chicken combo, and ribs and wings.

GORDON BIERSCH BREWERY ANNOUNCES SUMMER MENU

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is offering summer menu items, SommerBrau beer and a new specialty cocktail.

SommerBrau is a Kölsch-style beer from Cologne, Germany, with a hint of fruitiness. The new cocktail is the Stoli Blueberi Lemonade, made with fresh blueberries, housemade lemonade and Stoli Blueberi vodka.

The summer menu features the Caribbean Combo with a trio of coconut shrimp, shrimp and lobster spring rolls and jerk chicken sliders, all of which can also be ordered individually as appetizers. Entrees are jerk chicken tacos, blackened mahi mahi, blacked chicken linguini, Jamaican Kobe burger, churrasco steak, churrasco steak and coconut shrimp combo, and lobster, crab and shrimp salad. Desserts include the Montego Bay banana split.

The summer items are available through Aug. 5.
