DINING CHANGES ON THE WAY AT TIVOLI VILLAGE

Although Petra Greek Taverna has closed at Tivoli Village, new neighborhood Asian-gastropub Poppy Den is preparing to open in the shopping center on New Year's Eve.

Chef Angelo Sosa is opening the restaurant. Sosa appeared on the seventh season of the Bravo reality series "Top Chef." The Poppy Den menu will reflect Sosa's extensive travel through Asia and classical training. The design will be a rustic, country setting with an outdoor poppy garden featuring poppy flowers and fresh herbs.

SILVERTON RESTAURANTS ANNOUNCE THANKSGIVING MENUS

Twin Creeks Steakhouse at the Silverton, 3333 Blue Diamond Road, plans to offer a three-course Thanksgiving menu from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday. It will feature smoked duck breast salad or roasted butternut squash soup, free range turkey with a foie gras stuffing, sage giblet gravy, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, haricot verts and cranberry pear relish. Dessert will be pumpkin cheesecake or strawberry trifle.

Sundance Grill plans to offer a special meal from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $18.95. It will begin with soup or salad, followed by entree choices of prime rib, oven-roasted turkey or salmon, served with green beans amandine, apple sausage stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, bourbon sweet candied yams and cranberry orange relish. Dessert will be pumpkin or pecan pie. The regular menu will be available.

MARCHE BACCHUS TO SERVE THANKSGIVING MENU

Marche Bacchus, 2620 Regatta Drive, plans to serve a Thanksgiving menu from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Specials will be offered a la carte and include duck confit salad, blake truffle Parmesan risotto, winter squash soup, seared scallops, turkey roulade with whipped potatoes, gravy, haricot vert, Colorado lamb rack, vegetarian lasagna, pumpkin pie and cheesecake.

PROJECT 150 PLANS FUNDRAISER AT DOM DEMARCO'S PIZZERIA

Project 150, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping homeless and displaces students at 17 area high schools, plans to celebrate its first year of service with a fundraiser at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 at Dom DeMarco's Pizzeria, 9785 W. Charleston Blvd.

Mon Ami Gabi in Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to offer specials inspired by the release of the French wine Beaujolais Nouveau Thursday through Nov. 21.

The wine is released the third Thursday of every November in French tradition. Specials are set to include celery root remoulade with Pommery mustard and oysters du jour with Beaujolais migonette, cream of garlic soup with savoy cabbage, flageolet beans and duck confit. The Feast and Festival buffets at Station Casinos and Fiesta properties plan to expand their menu for lunch and dinner for Thanksgiving Nov. 22.

A carving station will feature turkey, prime rib and ham, and sides will include pecan sage stuffing, green bean and mushroom casserole and mashed potatoes. Buffets at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch Resorts plan to offer upscale options, where the cost will be $18.99 with a Boarding Pass rewards card and $24.99 without a card. SOUTH POINT PLANS PIGSKIN PARTIES THURSDAYS IN NOVEMBER

The South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host Pigskin Parties in the Showroom Thursdays in November for Thursday night football. Guests can enjoy weekly team-themed food specials, $4 drink specials from Spicebox Whiskey and giveaways.

THEME DINNERS WITH BEER PAIRINGS PLANNED AT BARLEY'S

Barley's Casino & Brewing Co., 4500 E. Sunset Road, plans to host theme buffet dinners with beer pairings from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturdays through the end of the year.

Beers brewed by Barley's brew master Jeffrey "Bubba" Amas will be used in the preparation of select food items, and Amas will provide beer pairing suggestions for guests 21 or older.

For Station Casinos Boarding Pass rewards program members, the all-you-can-eat buffet is $10.99 per person. Barley's beer is $1 per draft or $5 for all you can drink. For nonmembers, the dinner is $12.99.

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is offering a seasonal menu that includes creamless celery root soup with gala apple and walnut for $7.95, endive and Roquefort cheese salad for $10.95, roast chicken grandmere with bacon, mushrooms and pommes puree for $19.95 and burgundy braised short rib with root vegetable puree and herbs for $26.95. Fresh lobster tartine on country toast with lemon aioli is $17.95, and sea scallops with caramelized Brussels sprouts and bacon atop cauliflower puree are $22.95. Vegetarians can enjoy vegetable pot au fue presented tableside in a cast iron pot filled with broth and caramelized vegetables for $18.95. Desserts include warm chocolate tart with homemade salted caramel ice cream for $8.95 and mille-feuille of berries with kirsch creme legere for $8.95.

The restaurant's plats du jour has bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin on Mondays, duck a l'orange on Tuesdays, burgundy braised beef bourguignon on Wednesdays, rack of lamb on Thursdays, Dover sole on Fridays, bacon-wrapped filet mignon on Saturdays and braised veal on Sundays.

'WINES DU JOUR' PLANS TOYS FOR TOTS SHOW AT TOWN SQUARE

Les Kincaid plans to broadcast his radio show "Wines Du Jour" to benefit Toys for Tots at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 from Brio Tuscan Grille in Town Square Las Vegas, 6653 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Tao Asian Bistro in The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a Milagro Tequila Mixologia dinner with brand ambassador Gaston Martinez at 7 p.m. Dec. 6.

CAESARS PALACE TO HOST FOOD UNIVERSITY IN DECEMBER

Food University is planned for Dec. 11-13 at Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South. The event is designed to transform foodies from spectators into competition-ready chefs.

A collaboration among Caesars Palace, hospitality industry leader Larry Ruvo, Food Network co-founder Robin Leach and culinary entertainment producer Richard Gore, Food University will have student volunteers from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas' hospitality school assisting with back-of-the-house preparations. Proceeds from "admissions" will go to Keep Memory Alive.

The first session will be open to 80 people. The cost is $1,995 per person for all three days and includes food and beverages and course instruction.

SPAGO LAS VEGAS BRINGING BACK ORIGINAL MENU FOR 20TH ANNIVERSARY

Spago Las Vegas in The Forum Shops at Caesars, 3500 Las Vegas Blvd. South, is turning 20, and to celebrate, chef Wolfgang Puck plans to greet guests, take photos and cook in the kitchen Dec. 11. The restaurant is also marking the occasion by offering a throwback menu for a limited time with retro pricing.

The menu will be available for dinner only Dec. 10-14 and includes an appetizer of house smoked sturgeon with crisp potato galette and horseradish cream for $12 and an entree of Cantonese-style roasted duck with wild huckleberries, ginger and stir-fried baby bok choy for $20.
