PICK OF THE WEEK:

DARA THAI & CHINESE

556 N. Eastern Ave.

At East Bonanza Road, 384-2444

One thing you can be certain of with Thai food is its spicy taste and many flavors. No where is that more true than at Dara Thai, where Chula Roth and her partner Chaiya are preparing a variety of fresh dishes served with extra-hot chili peppers. The two most popular are seafood spicy soup and beef spicy salad. The soup has lime juice, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf and Thai chili with shrimp, squid, sea mussels and crab. The salad has similar spices along with scallions, cilantro, tomato and cucumber. Other menu items include pad Thai with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp or seafood, chow mein, pan-fried noodles with Chinese broccoli, curry (red, green, yellow), orange chicken, papaya salad with garlic shrimp, chop suey, deep-fried tilapia with chili sauce, stir-fried garlic chicken or pork, chicken or beef teriyaki and stir-fried mixed vegetables. Other soups are egg flower, won ton, shrimp or chicken vegetable, spicy chicken with coconut milk and beef triple spicy. Several appetizers are vegetable egg roll, Thai beef jerky, shrimp tempura and the house chicken wings with sweet and sour sauce. Soups begin at $4.99 and Thai entrees at $7.99. Dara Thai & Chinese is open from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
