PICK OF THE WEEK:
ATANDY'S PIZZA
5670 N. Simmons St. at Ann Road, 551-5028
Everyone should patronize his or her neighborhood pizza restaurant. There are many reasons including fresh, tasty pizza at a reasonable price that is probably being made by one of your neighbors. Atandy's has a 24-seat dining area serving 10- or 14-inch pizzas with all of the regular toppings: pepperoni, spinach, black olives, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, salami, mushrooms and beef. Among the specialty pies are Pizza Mexicana (chicken, meatballs, salsa, black beans, onion, jalapenos), chicken Alfredo with spinach and Alfredo sauce, mushroom veggie, Philly cheesesteak, barbecue chicken, Genoa salami with potatoes, and spinach with olive oil, black and green olives, feta and garlic. Featured sandwiches are meatball Parmigiana, chicken Alfredo and Philly cheesesteak. Pasta entrees, such as lasagna, fettuccini Alfredo and spaghetti with meatballs, are served with garlic knots and salad. The kids' menu has mac and cheese, cheese pizza and chicken tenders with fries. There are appetizers, soups and salads including Caesar and the house with greens, tomatoes, carrots, olives, cucumber and cheese, topped with chicken breast. Regular pizzas start at $5.45 and specialty pies at $7.95. Ask about daily lunch specials. Atandy's Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. -- Jack Bulavsky
